Karlie

We tried to refrain from picking out a name for our baby until we were certain we could continue the pregnancy but I couldn’t help myself. I believed our baby was going to be a little fighter so I wanted a strong, meaningful name. It felt fitting to tap into my Scandinavian roots and pick a name for the Viking warrior I was surely growing. For fun I found a list of Scandinavian names and their meanings for baby girls. After much searching, I came across the name Karlie which meant “a self-independent woman who can overcome all hurdles of life”. This one struck a chord with both my husband and I so we knew that was the one. I didn’t fully intend to name our baby yet but from that moment on our baby was Karlie.
